A cat following an individual in the rooms may appear such on the face of it as needy. Even a cat that is hardly making eye contact may appear aloof. Thus, in most households, such snap judgments overlook what studies of feline behavior repetitively demonstrate: cats establish patterns of relationships which are most apparent in daily life.
Cats that were exposed to a new room in a controlled environment were separated with their caregiver and monitored during reunion, which took two minutes. Cats that came back to their feet soon and went to look about; those that remained tense, illogical, and on the person, stayed still. The latter division assists in explaining why some of the behaviors that humans keep at home seem larger than habit–they frequently involve attachment, stress-adaptation, and the degree to which a cat is following a familiar person.
1. When the house is not the cat remains calm
There are cats, who behave as silent stabilizers: they have fewer destructive outbursts, they do not paw the floor as much, and they are more likely to fall asleep without insisting on being taken care of at all times. Such emotional stabilization is common with cats who became accustomed to the house routine and are able to withstand minor disturbances without losing control. Practically, a controlled cat will tend to refocus energy in toys, stop in advance to respond to sounds and prefer intimacy to anarchy. A constantly shiny coat, steady appetite and reliable energy might make it appear that a cat is peculiar strong.
