Celebrity Siblings You Forgot Were Related And the Stories Behind It

Other celebrity siblings are immediately identified as relatives. Some have had to pursue different careers altogether, in different genres, different audiences, even different last names, until a random cast list or old interview has made the connection.

These two (and a couple of three-people) demonstrate the ways in which the ties of kinship can influence the first-mover advantage, make light on-screen, or remain quietly in the background until one project draws everyone into the same picture.

1. Maggie and Jake Gyllenhaal

The Gyllenhaal brothers were brought up in a family of two Hollywood filmmakers and made a classic path into the acting career, starting with minor parts in films of their own father. Their most lasting initial overlap would come in Donnie Darko when they were brother and sister, a dynamic that played into their natural comfort with each other in real life. Unfortunately, it was not an automatic casting behind the scene, the director of the film told Maggie that the first thing she did was to convince him not to cast her before eventually casting her. 2. Macaulay and Kieran Culkin

Macaulay Culkin has inseparably become part of the Home Alone era to a lot of viewers, but his younger sibling, Kieran, was literally in the same sphere of the franchise, appearing as the cousin of Kevin with the name Fuller. Their professional paths subsequently took a very different turn, with Macaulay taking absences in the meantime, Kieran continuing to add job after job, which included a well-known run on Succession. 3. Brandy and Ray J

The emergence of Brand by as an R&B star and sitcom head provided a stage that would finally bring her younger brother on TV. Ray J was brought in as the character brother of Brandy where their real sibling relationship was translated into a simple TV version. They subsequently transferred that family-brand awareness into the reality television through Brandy and Ray J: A Family Business. Their association is a household name, yet it is still forgotten in the real world since, at various points, their public personalities found themselves in other places of pop culture-music, tabloid celebrity-hood and even reality T.V.

4. Beanie Feldstein and Jonah Hill

The fact that these two siblings used different last names and different breakout moments assisted in keeping this sibling under the radar over the years. Jonah Hill grew into a comedic star of his age, and Beanie Feldman came afterwards and stole the scenes and became known for her voice. Their relationship has manifested itself in personal moments such as the fact that Hill got a tattoo on her sister name as her debut on Broadway. It is a personal-professional kind of relationship that is private: first personal, then professional, but only appears when needed, not as a headline.

5. Luke, Chris and Liam Hemsworth

Hemsworth family name is closely linked with Chris and Liam, but Luke is the firstborn-and has been working continuously over the years. An especially enjoyable detail of overlap came through a meta moment Luke had an in-universe appearance in Thor: Ragnarok as an in-universe actor portraying Thor in the staged performance sequence that occurred in the movie. Their most recognizable work is often in different eras of the movie industry and it is easy to forget the connection, and both of them were able to attain the sort of fame that does not require a footnote in the family book.

8. Tia, Tamera, and Tahj Mowry

Tia and Tamera are recognized by most people immediately because of Sister, Sister, however, the sibling drama has a third working actor, the brother Tahj. The overlap of the three was not simply a coincidence based on the same industry, but shared screen time, as the three appeared together in the movie Seventeen Again.
