“The stone never forgets.” For so many years, it stood guard as an impassive sentinel, its eyes fixed on some distant horizon, as its secrets were presumed to have been unlocked by academic minds. However, thanks to new technology, it has been proven to be otherwise. Scans have been taken that have peered behind the layers of ancient limestone, and beneath its massive forepaws is a secret chamber that humanity had long forgotten.
These findings, through the application of advanced imaging technology, have not only unearthed the presence of the secret void but may also offer insight into the link between the secrets and the broader debates regarding the technological and historical treatment of the natural resources throughout the Old Kingdom periods. What was to be a purely structural analysis of the site has developed into a myriad field of analysis incorporating geology, architecture, and Egyptology.
These cases below represent the first ten revelations of this revolutionary research and provide an indication into the secrets that lie inside the Sphinx and the secrets hidden within the Sphinx design.

1. Identification of On Purpose Square Hollowing Out
The high muon imaging method, utilized previously for detecting hidden corridors in Khufu’s Pyramid, has revealed the existence of an additional rectangular gap hidden underneath the legs of the Sphinx’s façade. The size of this gap matches the dimensions of known lost corridors, not previously found in ancient literature. The existence of this gap contradicts the general knowledge of the feature indicating this foundation to have solid rock underneath the Sphinx’s statue, since this space exists and apparently serves some purpose.

2. Depth Related to Architectural Levels of the Old Kingdom
The ground-penetrating radar system was able to trace this void through geological deposits that dated to the reigns of the Old Kingdom buildings. The geological deposits mentioned above are representative of already discovered geological profiles found within the Giza Plateau during previous ground-penetrating radar analysis for earlier ground studies, and thus, it is safe to date this void to the reign of Khafre.

3. Hidden passage leading to older subsurface cuts
The more accurate scanning of the area has also unveiled the presence of a narrow tunnel linking the chamber to an even more remote crevice on the surface of the plateau itself. Such a tunnel facility also reflects the underground patterns already observed in the previous scanning of the area around the Great Sphinx itself. The tunnel alone reveals the presence of access points to the structure used by the old civilizations, altering the views of sphinx maintenance altogether.

4. Tool Marks Suggest Multiple Stages of Construction
Analysis of the chiseling marks from different periods along the edges of such a cavity, through the use of a fiber optic camera, showed that while there were different patterns of chiseling, there were also different ways of chiseling, thus symbolizing that there had been repair work carried out through the dynamic architecture of the Giza Plateau.

5. Ancient Ventilation System Helped Maintain the Chamber
The airflow sensors detected a slow and steady flow of air through the area, indicating a designed ventilation system. Such would help in humidity regulation, hence inhibiting damage caused by moisture accumulation on the walls formed by limestone rock. Such technology would not be common in smaller shafts but is a testament to the ingenuity of Old Kingdom architecture in ensuring tomb stability.

6. Nile Floods: Layers of Centuries of Deposits
Silts found in the bands within the chamber denote the occurrence of flooding throughout history. The existence of silts within the chamber shows that the chamber was closed prior to the large-scale drainage projects undertaken by the Middle Kingdom period. This provides an archive of history for the environment Giza previously existed in.

7. Carved Niches Suggest Ritual Use
Shallow rectangular niches running along the sides of the room are very similar to niches found in other religious structures. This similarity in niches indicates planning for religious or technical artifacts like tools. Even if such artifacts have been absent for ages, their niches give a clue about the purpose of this room not being solely engineering-related.

8. Geometry Echoes Nearby Temple Proportions
The data also shows that there is perfect correlation between the sizes used here and the proportional sizes used in the Valley Temple side by side. Proportionate balance cements the perception that there is a design philosophy binding the Sphinx and the hidden part of the Sphinx.

9. Microfractures Reveal Ancient Seismic Events
By high resolution image analysis, diagonal stress lines in the surrounding rock Bedouin showed moderate seismic activity which had predated major repairs in the New Kingdom periods. The existence of such geology defects suggests earth activity which could be responsible for accelerated erosion and therefore the need for repairs. The sphinx has survived earth equakes on planet earth.

10. Le Nouveau Sens de Soubassement de Sphinx
In addition to the other information available, the presence of this cavity further convinces people of the belief that this culture went further than the design for a maintenance tunnel or chamber. Its design obviously aims to join functionality and protection for what appears to be the ideology of the Old Kingdom itself: not separating the design functionality of an item and giving it religions significance. These findings, located beneath the paws of the Sphinx, signify the manner by which the greatest landmarks continue to astonish modern science with secrets.
In addition to the advanced image techniques available to us with the knowledge of archaeologists, this has allowed for further light to have been shed upon the very buried history of the Sphinx itself. These findings suggest an appreciation for the people of yesterday who had the technical knowledge to join their standing establishment for a guardian with a profound religious significance to them.
